ROLL UP, ROLL UP, ROLL UP

After last year's exhausting outing (plus the continuing problem over the missing silver cow creamer), the Emsworth Committee had rather thought of taking a year off organising and instead taking themselves to Tobago for a week or so (which apparently would have been allowed for within the generous terms of the Show's covenant, regarded as legitimate entertainment expenses).

However at the last moment they have bowed to public pressure and are therefore steeling themselves to spend the next month mired in jappy pegs or whatever you call 'em.

As always, though, the first step is to email ME, Miss Emma Townshend, of Little Piddle Cottage, Field Lane, Emsworth, on: anicegreenleaf then a DOT then hotmail then a DOT then com, with pics, and a note to let me know what you want to enter.  Despite the apparent private jokiness, this is a public show and all categories are open to all. Please DO enter.

Good luck to all,

the Committee

  5. Sorry - it really doesnt matter - I think it is something to do with your blogger settings and who you allow to comment -

When I read your blog, Under the post a comment box there is a little box with "comment as:- select profile" and when I click on that, a lot of options come up, but the one that doesnt come up is "name / URL" which is what I use for commenting on blogs as it then links my comment directly to Artists Garden - on blogs where there is not the name / url option, then I have to sign in with my blogger account, which is not where my actual bog is - just a pointer to it.
I am sure someone who uses blogger could explain better ..... VP??

Unless of course you are referring to the pink and girly comment???? :)

  9. BTW Karen if you do your usual 'Sarah Raven' and then mess about with the colours in the Photo processing software of your choice, you're bound to be the one for us mere mortals to beat ;)

  11. Hurrah!

I shall have to see if I can get photos of some of our neighbours' plastic monstrosities (does a giant paddling pool filled with plastic sharks and things count as a garden ornament?)

Shame there's no category for smallest carrots though - I feel I'd have a good chance with that one.

  14. I'm going to try and dig out a pic that was sent to me when I news ed at Amateur Gardening - it was a potato shaped like a dog. The 'owner' had even put a sequinned collar attached to lead around the spud.

  15. Hmmm I'm just wondering about that smallest carrot category, that does seem like a good idea.

  17. James sent me here mere moments ago and already I am fired up for a battle. I have to warn you I did do well in Matron's veggie show but now I have just turned 30 and things are taking a serious slant; I only have so long to be worshipped for my wonderousness.... I shall get back to you after I manage to actually get within photographing distance of my dam plot! Rain and flooding at the lotties, uurrrggghhhh!

  18. Oh I am all excited now! But it is raining and my garden is all flattened and wet. Might have a try tomorrow, although I am a bit intimidated by the professionalism of some of the entries. I absolutely love the Victoria's Secret cake, inspired!

  21. Oh such disappointment - I emailed some entries on 4th September but they were all returned undelivered to my inbox very late last night. I sent them to: anicegreenleaf@hotmail.com

Did I make a mistake with the email address ? Oh woe is me :(

    ReplyDelete
  22. You didn't make a mistake and I have no idea why they got sent back. Do you want to try them again? I am currently in the process of clearing the inbox, but if you try again and it doesn't work, why don't you post your email address here (obviously without the full stops and coms) and I'll send an email to you so you have a clear route back?? Sorry Anna!

  23. Anna's been in touch with me over the weekend and I believe she's going to try again. If that fails she's going to send them to you via me.
